According to a secondary source, Vietnam has had an AI law since 1 March 2026 (passed on 10 December 2025). Providers must mark AI audio, images and video machine-readably, in a format set by the government.
Deployers must give public notice where AI content could mislead people about the authenticity of events or individuals. Content that simulates a real person's appearance or voice, or recreates real events, needs a clear label.

What applies
Unlike the EU, the deployer's notice duty expressly covers text too. Concealing or falsifying labels is prohibited. Everything on this page comes from a secondary source (law firm Allen & Gledhill, 30 March 2026) on Law no. 134/2025/QH15; we have not yet checked the statute ourselves.
What this means for EU retailers
- An EU label on photorealistic AI models covers the core of the Vietnamese rule, since simulations of real people need a clear label.
- Keep the metadata in your AI images.
- For details such as format and fines, the law refers to government decrees. Check the current state before targeting Vietnam in your advertising.
