As far as we can establish, Canada has no federal law on labelling AI-generated content. The planned Artificial Intelligence and Data Act was part of Bill C-27. The bill never got past committee; the parliamentary session ended on 6 January 2025.
EU retailers with Canadian customers therefore face no additional AI labelling rule.

What this means for EU retailers
A visible Article 50 label in your store conflicts with no Canadian rule. Misleading product images remain a risk regardless, label or not.
Bill C-27 was referred to committee on 24 April 2023; the session ran from 22 November 2021 to 6 January 2025. We checked the federal level only, not the provinces.
